In 2009, Planet Heritage Foundation, with Oak Foundation, helped seed the development and launch of the Electrification Coalition (EC), a nonpartisan, not-for-profit group of business leaders committed to the deployment of electric vehicles in the US at mass scale.

EC created a comprehensive Electrification Roadmap outlining key policy and economic drivers necessary for the deployment of electric vehicles in the US at mass scale.

EC aligned a coalition of high-level, nonpartisan business leaders to proactively highlight and promote the roadmap’s data.

A critical piece of legislation was introduced to the House and Senate by both Republicans and Democrats in May 2011. In its best form, the law will lead to a sweeping, national shift towards electrification, with cities competing for billions of dollars to become deployment communities.
